Katharine Hayhoe is an atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on developing and applying high-resolution climate projections to understand what climate change means for people and the natural environment. She is the Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy and a Paul W. Horn Distinguished Professor and the Political Science Endowed Professor in Public Policy and Public Law at Texas Tech University. Dr. Hayhoe has served as a lead author for the Second, Third, and Fourth U.S. National Climate Assessments.

Dr. Vasseur is a full professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Brock University. She is a member of the Environmental Sustainability Research Centre and a CCOVI fellow. Since 2014, she holds the UNESCO Chair on Community Sustainability: From Local to Global at Brock. Her research program is interdisciplinary and links issues such as sustainable agriculture, climate change adaptation, community-based ecosystem and conservation management, and ecosystem governance. Her research is in Canada, China, Ecuador, Burkina Faso, and Senegal.

  Dr. Chiyuan Miao is a full professor at Beijing Normal University, China. His research interests mainly focus on the traditional Hydrological science and the emerging Global Climate Change science. Dr. Miao has devoted himself to seek answers to those fundamental questions: whether the current hydro-climatogical datasets such as precipitation and temperature data are reliable, how do hydro-climatological variables respond to global climate change, and what roles do human beings play in such hydrological changes?

Ruth Hayhoe is a professor at the University of Toronto. Her Asian engagements have included First Secretary for Education, Science and Culture in the Canadian Embassy in Beijing (1989-1991), Visiting Professor at Nagoya University (1996) and President of the Hong Kong Institute of Education, now the Education University of Hong Kong (1997-2002). Recent books include China Through the Lens of Comparative Education (2015), Canadian Universities in China’s Transformation: An Untold Story (2016) and Religion and Education: Comparative and International Perspectives (2018). She received the Silver Bauhinia Star from the Hong Kong SAR Government and the title of Commandeur dans l’ordre des Palmes Académiques from the Government of France in 2002. She also holds honorary doctorates from the Hong Kong Institute of Education (2002), the Open University of Hong Kong (2015) and Victoria University in Toronto (2019).

Howard Lin is a professor in Toronto Metropolitan University. He is the Director of Canada-China Institute for Business & Development. He was former chair of the Academy of International Business Canada Chapter and currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship. A 2006 report by Michigan State University has ranked Prof. Lin among the top 90 most prolific scholars in IB research based on the cumulative publication counts in five leading international business journals.

George is a former physical education, physics,and mathematics teacher. In addition to his work in the classroom, he served as Headmaster of Holy Trinity School and Science and Mathematics Curriculum Consultant for the Toronto District School Board. His career in science education includes program and exhibit development at the Ontario Science Centre where he held the positions of Education officer, Chief Scientist, and Associate Director. He was also the Administrator of Evaluation with the Premier's Council Technology Fund and President of the Royal Canadian Institute for the Advancement of Science.
