The Global Youth Challenge is a world-wide competition that consists of public speaking, essay writing, and creative projects that grapple with the topic of Artificial intelligence(AI) and the impact it has and will continue to have on our world.
Youth from around the world will be required to submit a 300 - 500 word essay plus a 3 - 4 minute video speech, or a visual artwork plus a 3 - 4 minute video speech.
Each entry will explore the potential benefits, as well as the possible harm and threats, that artificial intelligence could pose to our world from diverse perspectives.
For example, eminent figures such as Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, and Ben Goertzel have thoroughly explored AI's dual nature, acknowledging it as both a potential threat and a significant source of benefits.
Chosen finalists will present their entry to a panel of judges for a chance to win:
1st Place Winner (one): $500 CAD, Certificate of Distinction with his/her name posted on the Global Youth Challenge website.
2nd Place Winners (five): $200 CAD, Certificate of Distinction with their names posted on the Global Youth Challenge website.
3rd Place Winners (ten): $100 CAD, Certificate of Distinction with their names posted on the Global Youth Challenge website.
All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
The top 25% of students will also be eligible to win a $28,500 scholarship (provided by The Erindale Academy), which can be used over a 4-year period at The Erindale Academy. Transcripts must be submitted. Minimum GPA required.

Is there something about the presentation that makes it stand out?
Vocabulary level, clarity, how well it supports the essay or art piece.
Rules regarding plagiarism will be strictly enforced.
